Fairview Branch Renovation
About the project
On September 30, 2023, the Fairview branch fully closed for renovation. On February 20, 2024, the first floor of the Fairview branch reopened as a reduced service point to support our community while the remainder of the branch remains closed for renovation. The branch is expected to fully open following completion of the renovation in early 2025.
This renovation is necessary to meet the current and future needs of this rapidly growing community. Renovating the 3rd floor will allow us to revitalize all public service areas, meet our spaces vision targets, address state of good repair deficiencies, adhere to current standards of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and position Fairview as a learning laboratory.
Other benefits of this renovation will include:
- welcoming and versatile space with new digital equipment to support and reflect a wide range of interests and needs.
- a variety of study, work, and collaborative/community spaces for community partners and all residents including seniors, teens, newcomers, students, children, and families.
- a universal washroom on the main floor along with two inclusive washrooms on the 3rd floor to increase accessibility
