Eligibility

Talking Books are available to customers with print disabilities. A print disability is a disability that prevents someone from reading conventional print. This definition is in section 32 of the Canadian Copyright Act:

About Talking Books Status

Talking Books Status gives you access to the Talking Books Collection and exemption from:

Standard loan periods, borrowing limits, and suspension thresholds apply.

Talking Books Status Application Form

A valid Toronto Public Library card is required to apply online.

Please visit a library branch with your name and address identification. Library staff can then register your new card for Talking Books Status.

Customer Information

Library staff will process your application and confirm your status within two business days.
